Hudson CSD to present budget forecast to groups

The Hudson City School District is bringing the district to you! We would like to present the 2013-14 Hudson CSD budget forecast to our taxpayers. Some insight into the budget

For the last four years, the Hudson City School District along with all public schools in upstate New York has received less state aid each year. Consequently, the district has had record-breaking layoffs of teachers and staff as well as cuts in programs.

If New York state continues to cut state aid to public schools, the district will be forced to make deeper cuts over the next several years. We cannot depend on our local taxpayers to offset the budget deficit each year. There will come a time when we are no longer able to function with the basic academic integrity needed to provide a well-rounded education to our students. The district has been working diligently on doing the right work to improve the academic and financial status of the district, but there is just so far we can go on the resources we receive from the state. Update to the 2012-13 Calendar

Please be advised that due to a change in the Questar calendar which was used as a guide to develop our district calendar, we are now scheduled to have both Sept. 4 and 5 as full professional development days. This extra time with staff will give the district an opportunity to address many important topics prior to the arrival of our students. We will welcome our students back to school for a full day on Sept. 6th. We look forward to seeing everyone this September! Download calendar


Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood Project

This is an important announcement regarding the Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood project.  Beginning Wednesday, August 1st and extending to Saturday, August 25th, staff members will be knocking on doors throughout the district to gather information about the community.  Staff will be wearing navy blue or gray shirts with the GHPN logo on them.  Please give us your input to help create the Hudson City School District of your future.  Thank you.
