Supply Lists (HJHS, 2018-19)

Grade 6

General Supplies for All Classes:

  • Paper towels
  • Box of tissues
  • Wet wipes
  • 3 packages of loose leaf paper
  • 1” or 2” binder
  • Pencils (enough for 180 days)
  • Colored pencils
  • Zippered pencil case
  • Hand held sharpener
  • Highlighters (2 colors)
  • Dry erase markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue sticks

Additional Supplies for Social Studies:

  • Composition Notebook
  • Earbuds to use with Chromebook
  • Folder

Additional Supplies for Math:

  • Composition Notebook
  • Folder

Additional Supplies for Writing Class:

  • 3-subject notebook
  • Folder
  • Pack of markers (thin or wide tip OK)
  • 2 packages 8 x 11.5 wide ruled lined paper for class

Additional Supplies for Science:

  • Composition notebook - college ruled
  • 1 black dry erase marker (to be left in class)
  • 3” x 5” index cards
  • Clear tape
  • 12 pack of colored pencils (to be left in class)

Additional Supplies for English/Language Arts (ELA):

  • Post it notes (any color, to be left in classroom)
  • Earbuds (do not have to be left in classroom) suggested that you have a zippered pencil bag to store them and have available to you.  Bigger headphones are difficult to store and carry.
  • Hand sanitizer is very beneficial during cold and flu season

Grades 7 & 8

The following list includes the school supplies recommended for all 7th and 8th grade students in the 2018-2019 School Year. Students are urged to bring these materials on the opening day (Wednesday, September 5, 2018):

  • 3” or 4” binder and tabbed dividers
  • Loose leaf paper
  • 6 pocket folders (different color for each subject)
  • 4 three-fastener heavy duty pocket portfolios.  Mead - 1 per quarter – Social Studies (Grade 8 only)
  • 3 Composition notebooks
  • One-subject notebook
  • 3-ring pencil pouch for binder
  • #2 Pencils
  • Black or Blue Pens
  • Foreign Language Dictionary (Grade 8 only)
  • Dry Erase Markers - ELA - 7th grade
  • Highlighters - ELA - 7th grade
  • 1 pair Earbuds - ELA/Math

Special Education

Ms. Spanakos

  • Two packs of pencils (About 40 altogether) - A helpful tip: Dollar store pencils do not sharpen well, and the erasers are hard as rock! Walmart has the USA Gold Pencils a pack of 20 for $3.48. These are good pencils. Please no mechanical pencils.
  • One 2-inch binder
  • One pair earbuds to use in class
  • Two packs of 3-hole punched college-ruled notebook paper - for the binder (dividers will be provided for each student)
  • One 12 pack of colored pencils
  • Two 2-pocket folders (any color)
  • Two 1-subject spiral notebooks (any color)
  • Two boxes of tissues for classroom use
