Ghani and Ganey named as Valedictorian and Salutatorian at HSHS

Hudson Senior High School, is pleased to announce the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Class of 2014

Mohammed H. Ghani

Mohammed H. Ghani, son of Saleha Begum and Mohammed Abdul Ghani and Samantha Ganey, daughter of Jennifer and Richard Ganey of Greenport and Mia Konsella of Saratoga Springs have been named the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, at Hudson Senior High School.

Mohammed is a member of the National Honor Society, AP Scholar, member of the JV and Varsity Soccer and Track teams and Robotics and Envirothon teams.  He is the recipient of the RPI Medal and the University of Albany Multicultural Award.  He is a Rotary Student of the Month.      

He was an American Legion Boys’ State representative for Hudson Senior High School.   Also, during the summer 2013 he interned with a Hudson area accounting firm.

Ghani plans to attend RPI in the fall for mechanical engineering.


Samantha Ganey

Samantha is a member of the National Honor Society, Varsity Club, Rotary Interact, Envirothon, Mock Trial, S.A.D.D., GSA, Environmental Club.

Ganey has participated in All-County Choir, All-County Jazz Festival, Charlatans  Upstage Productions, Varsity Basketball and Football Cheerleading and Hudson Valley Cheer Competition.

She has received the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award, Rotary Youth Leadership Award, been nominated for Envisions’s Careers in Medicine, National Youth Leadership Forum and been a Rotary Student of the Month in her Junior year at Hudson Senior High School.

She will be attending the University of Rochester in the fall to study Biochemistry.
