Lucke and Anwer named as Valedictorian and Salutatorian at HHS
Candace B. Lucke, the daughter of Robert Lucke and Martha Lane of Hudson and Raisa Anwer the daughter of Anwer Khan and Naseem Anwer of Hudson have been named the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, at Hudson High School.
Lucke is a member and the President of the National Honor Society, Member and Vice President of the Environmental Club, Class Representative to the Student Council 2004-present, Secretary of the Student Council 2007-08, Co-Captain of the Girl’s Varsity Soccer Team 2007, Secretary of the Class of 2008, Senior Editor of the Blue & Gold Yearbook, Junior Editor of the Blue & Gold Yearbook 2006-2007, Junior States of America 2006-present, high school band and choir member 2004-present, digital photography & video 2006-present, HCSD Summer Theater Program 2002, Stage Works Summer Stage 1998-2001.
Candace has been member of the Girls Varsity & JV Track and Varsity Soccer Teams, enjoys snowboarding and tap and jazz dance. She has been active with the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen, Hudson Opera House Fundraisers, First Reformed Church Nursery, and as a Hudson Area Library Volunteer
Miss Lucke plans to study Communications at Cornell University in the fall
Anwer has been a member of the National Honor Society, Mock Trial Team, the school newspaper The Owl , the Environmental Club, the school musical productions, Amnesty International, and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD).
Raisa earned the distinction of being name Rotary Club Student of the Month in March 2007.
Miss Anwer will be attending Union College in the Fall to pursue a degree in medicine for a future as a physician in the field of women’s health care.
