Polling Locations

Please note that as of the Monday, March 14, 2016 Board of Education meeting, polling locations have been consolidated at the request of the Board of Elections.

District 1 - City of Hudson - John L. Edwards Primary School (360 State Street, Hudson)

District 2 * - Greenport, Stottville/Stockport, Ghent - Greenport Community Center (500 Town Hall Dr, Hudson) *New Polling Location*

District 3 - Claverack, Livingston, Taghkanic – A.B. Shaw Fire House (67 NY-23, Claverack)

*At the April 17, 2018 school board meeting, the Hudson City School District Board of Education is expected to adopt a resolution designating the polling location for School Election District #2 to be the Greenport Community Center, located at the end of Town Hall Drive opposite the Greenport Town Hall. The change in location is necessary for the district to be compliant according to the Americans with Disabilities Act.

To be eligible to vote, you must be:

  • A U.S. citizen 18 years of age or older and a resident of the Hudson City School District for a period of 30 days or more directly preceding the day of the vote.
  • Registered to vote with either the School District or the Columbia County Board of Elections.

If you have not previously registered and would like to vote in this referendum, you must register with the School District Board of Registration.

Voter Registration Information

Register to vote during the Voter Registration Event on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at John L. Edwards Primary School. Please bring photo identification.

You can also register to vote at any time by submitting a completed voter registration application to the Columbia County Board of Elections (401 State Street, Hudson, NY 12534).

To obtain a voter registration application from the school district, contact the Board Clerk at 518-828-4360, ext. 2100.

Absentee Ballot Information

NOTICE is given that applications for absentee ballots may be applied for at the office of the District Clerk, Leslie Coons, Hudson City School District, District Offices, 215 Harry Howard Avenue, Hudson, New York 12534.

If the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, the completed application must be received by the Clerk no later than 4 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, May 8, 2018 (seven [7] days before the budget vote & election).

If the ballot is to be picked up personally by the voter, the completed application must be received by the District Clerk no later than 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, May 14, 2018, (one [1] day before the budget vote & election).

A list of all persons to whom absentee ballots shall have been issued shall be available for public inspection in the office of the District Clerk during regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on each of the five (5) days prior to the day of the vote, (May 8 through May 14, 2018, excluding Saturday and Sunday).

An absentee ballot must reach the office of the District Clerk no later than 4 p.m. on May 15, 2018 (the day of the budget vote & election).

Leslie Coons, District Clerk, can be reached at 518-828-4360 extension 2100 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  She will be in the office until 4 p.m. on day of the vote to receive ballots (Tuesday, May 15, 2018).
