Spa Catholic Christmas Tournament
The Hudson Bluehawks varsity boys basketball team went up to Saratoga Catholic Central and came home with a first place trophy. After trailing by nine to start the fourth quarter of the opening round game, Hudson stormed back to force overtime. With a very strong effort in overtime, we were able to come out with a 70-68 victory moving on to the Championship game.
In the championship game against the host Saratoga Catholic Central, Hudson again overcame a deficit, this time of eight points, in the fourth quarter. A very strong, 26-9 fourth quarter fueled by tough defense and excellent 10/13 free throw shooting gave Hudson a 64-57 victory over the previously undefeated Spa Catholic team.
Jeff Crank was named tournament MVP with a combined 53 points in the two games. Brian McSween and Lindon Alert were also named to the All-Tournament team. The championship came as an entire team effort, with 11 players contributing valuable playing time on the court in two very tight and hard fought games.
