ALP REPORT CARD NIGHT
Come one come all to ALP report card night. On November 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 and 4:30 to 6:30 you can come by and see what’s happening at ALP. The ALP students have been doing a great job this year and are ready to show off their art work as well as their academic grades. The avenues of success continue to expand in our program. Even if you do not have a child attending ALP, you are still more than welcome.
ALP SETS THE STANDARD
Once again the ALP community shines academically. The efforts of parents, students and staff have yielded another successful year.
The following are the results for the 2007-08 academic year:
- 92% of the 7th and 8th grade class passed to the next level.
- 84% of the 9th grade class earned sufficient credits to move to the 10th grade.
- 46% of the 10th grade class earned sufficient credits to move to the 11th grade.
- 80% of the 11th grade class earned sufficient credits to move to the 12th grade.
- 100% of the seniors graduated.
These percentages may increase with the successful completion of summer school classes.
The following are the Regent/RCT exam results for June 08:
- 88% passed English 11
- 50 % passed Global 10
- 88% passed Math A
- 86% passed U.S. History 11
- 80% passed Living Environment
I would like to thank everyone for consistently going above and beyond on a daily basis. It is amazing how successful students can be once they understand it’s within their grasp and are willing to put forth the effort. The seed of self-esteem and confidence had bloomed nicely in the Alternative Learning Program.
Two years ago Marilyn Barry presented this opportunity to help the students of HCSD. On behalf of everyone here, thank you Marilyn.
